I did it. Half way I reckon I am.

And we all know what too many dried figs do to you…

I’ve decided I’m gonna try for the next hour without chocolate. Dried figs only. Hmmm. Challenging.

Procrastinating is so naughty.

Ok, I’m not allowed to do anything else until I;ve worked on my sermon for a whole hour straight.

Starting…

NOW.

I hate sermon week. It kinda feels like a permanent Monday morning.

In more exciting news…I just booked my plane ticket to Melbourne. Yay. Planes are fun. Can’t wait to get away and have a few days of time out. I wonder what it will be like…

Ok, really need to stop procrastinating now.

Sermon here we come…

I think me and the chocolate drawer might have a fairly intimate relationship over the next few days.

I’m glad I’m not Paul

24Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. 27I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. 2 Corinthians 11

Thankyou Jesus for eternal life.

For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body….we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence….Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory which far outweighs them all….So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corintians 4:11-18

Go on, try again… I dare ya

Yay, my comments appear to be working again. I was starting to get worried I was only writing for Howie and the abyss.

You wanna hear something amazing? Last Thursday I tidied and cleaned my room. But that’s not the amazing thing. The amazing thing is that here we are a week later and it’s still reasonably tidy and clean.

Stranger things have happened.

Deep thinking

I was talking to John Buckley last Sun and in the process of discussing the theology of the Matt Redman song we danced to, he said something like this…

Have you ever considered the destiny of a tree? A tree fulfills its detsiny when someone stands underneath it and gives glory to God.

Hmmm, still thinking about it.

Is the pure purpose of creation to direct people to the glory of God?

Fun quizes
